Terms & Conditions
- Registration Fee
A non-refundable Registration Fee is requested when a child is registered for admission to the School.
- Deposit
Two terms before a child is due for entrance, an acceptance form will be sent with a request for a deposit which will be refunded once all outstanding fees and extras for the child’s final term at The Compass School have been paid.
The deposit is not refundable if your child does not take up a place at the School.
- Sibling Discount
When three children from a single family attend the School, a reduction of one third of the tuition fees of the youngest child will be offered. This reduction may continue once the elder siblings have left the School, provided that they left having completed Form 8.
- Payment of Fees
Tuition Fees are payable in advance and must be made either:
- in full before the beginning of each term;
- by Direct Debit on a 10-monthly basis from September to June; or
- in full before the beginning of the academic year.
‘Extras’ are invoiced on a termly basis and are due within seven days of the invoice date unless payment is made by Direct Debit.
- Childcare/Nursery Vouchers
These vouchers may be used in payment or part payment for Form One fees, Compass Care and Early Bird Care, and for any after school club activities that take place on the School’s premises at West Road. After school club activities that take place off site cannot be paid for using vouchers. This is an HMRC requirement and in line with their guidelines.
- Notice
A full term’s notice in writing to the Headmaster must be given by the first day of the previous term of the withdrawal of a child from the School, otherwise the next term’s fees will be charged, due within 30 days of the invoice date. This includes withdrawals at the end of the Summer Term.
Please note that the absence of a pupil does not lesson the cost of running the School and fees (including extras) therefore cannot be remitted on account of temporary absence from illness or other causes.
A half term’s notice must be given in writing before a child may withdraw from any extra activities.
The School reserves the right to pass on details of any unpaid fees (including extras) to future Schools should they request this information.
- Reminders & Interest
Reminder notices for unpaid tuition fees will be issued one week after the start of each term.
Subsequent reminder letters will incur a £20.00 administration fee, and a penalty surcharge of 4% above the Bank of Scotland base rate will be applied to invoices still overdue after three weeks.
Please note that the School reserves the right to take legal action to recover outstanding debts.
